Add The New York Post on Google A Kansas grandmother’s body was found stuffed in a suitcase and dropped off at a fire station in a heartbreaking case police are investigating as a homicide.
Cops said two people brought the suitcase to a Wichita fire station Sept. 16 and said there was a body inside, who was later identified as Lorretta Moody, 67.
“This is just evil. There’s no other word for it,” her granddaughter, Alexis Trotter, told KWCH.

Lorretta Moody / Facebook “She wouldn’t want to be known as the person who showed up in a suitcase at a fire station,” she said. “She would be wanting to be known as the loving person that she was, a loving grandmother and a loving great-grandmother.”
Police have already interviewed the two people who brought the body to the fire station, but the investigation remains ongoing and no arrests have been announced.
Before her body was found, Moody had been reported missing to police, according to KAKE.
A request for an update in the case was not immediately returned by the Wichita Police Department.
Trotter said her family wants to remember their beloved grandmother for the life she lived, not the tragic circumstances of her death.
“[She] loved all of us grandkids, her great-grandkids,” Trotter said. “Family was everything to her. She was spunky, I’d say, for a little person. She was full of life,” she told the outlet.

“We want to get the people who did it, and whoever did it, I hope they come forward and realize this isn’t something that should just be normal, everyday life,” she said.
“She’s a human, and she was somebody’s family member. She was somebody’s blood.”
A GoFundMe page raising money for Moody’s funeral costs has raised nearly $800 of its $5,500 goal.
