Add The New York Post on Google The NYPD has released a photo of the scooter-riding brute who allegedly gunned down Malaki Adams, 14, in Queens Monday afternoon, with the shooting being probed as a targeted killing, sources said.
Pictures show Adams’ alleged killer masked-up wearing a black hoodie and checkered gray pants — and seen riding a kick scooter. Sources told The Post the alleged shooter stole Adams’ scooter after blasting him in the back around 3:40 p.m.
The gunman may have deliberately targeted Adams, who was riding his scooter when the perp ran up on him with a gun.
Adams then tried to flee from the shooter, before the creep blasted him and sped off on it, according to sources.
He was last seen heading eastbound on Norton Avenue in Edgemere on Monday, cops said.
The teen was rushed to Long Island Jewish Hospital, where he later died, according to authorities
Friends and neighbors were torn by the teen’s tragic death, with many suggesting that Adams may have been the victim of violence by one of the nabe’s many gangs.
“He’s sweet and lovely,” remembered London, 16, who is friends with Adams’ sister.
London also claimed Adams’ killing was “a gang shooting,” but couldn’t say for sure whether Adams himself was in a gang.
One local said he heard two shots when Adams was killed, and told The Post that had seen the alleged shooter around the neighborhood before the shooting.
“You see the mask! He ain’t letting no one see his face,” the man said. “All these gangs here. You see him too if you sit here long enough.”
In a fundraiser for her son’s burial expenses, Adams’ mother, Alexis Credle, remembered her “beautiful son.”
“My baby, you were taken from me far too soon,” she wrote.
“I will carry you in my heart every single day for the rest of my life. I love you more than words could ever say.”
