Jaxson Dart’s fantasy football outlook: Target these quarterbacks to replace injured Giants QB1

Add The New York Post on Google Big Blue is in big trouble — and so are Jaxson Dart fantasy owners.

Dart’s left knee injury in the opening minutes of the Giants’ 28-6 loss to the Rams on “Monday Night Football” is reportedly more severe than initially expected, according to ESPN.

Despite Giants head coach John Harbaugh saying after the game that the Giants likely avoided a “devastating outcome,” the sophomore quarterback is facing potential season-ending surgery.

As Harbaugh declined to comment further on the prognosis, Dart’s fantasy managers, who drafted him at an Average Draft Position of QB11 per FantasyPros, will need a short-term replacement at the very least.

Dart’s upside — established by 284 total yards for three touchdowns against Dallas in Week 1 — is unlikely to be sustained by backup Jameis Winston. Winston relieved him by completing 11-of-27 pass attempts that went for 111 yards and an interception.

With that said, here are our best recommendations for replacing Dart before Week 3.

It’s time to anoint Young as a legitimate fantasy starter after throwing for three touchdowns in each of his first two games.

He enters Week 3 as QB2, trailing only Josh Allen, with 648 passing yards, six touchdowns and just one interception.

Young owns an 8.9 yards-per-attempt mark, a 113.3 passer rating and PFF’s seventh-best quarterback grade (83.9).

His supporting cast provides a safety floor between Tetairoa McMillan, Jalen Coker and Darren Waller, who shockingly has two touchdowns.

IMAGN IMAGES via Reuters Connect Tyler Shough, NO (49 percent rostered) Shough should have already been on everyone’s radar last week, but he’s still rostered in just under half of ESPN leagues. That’s pretty low for the NFL’s passing leader through two weeks.

Shough followed his 25.2 fantasy points against the Lions with a 22.38-point effort in the Saints’ upset over the Ravens. He’s shrugged off pressure by extending plays with his legs and ranks eighth in completion percentage (68.9 percent).

His dual-threat abilities have proved effective in high-pressure situations as the Saints are perfect in fourth-down conversions.

Besides, the NFC South is chock-full of lousy defenses that Shough has yet to take for a spin.

Murray is stepping into an excellent spot after clearing concussion protocol, with Tampa Bay allowing 28 points per game and already coughing up five turnovers through two weeks.

He still has more to prove in Minnesota, but getting Miami, Indianapolis and Detroit, you have to like where Justin Jefferson, Jordan Addison and T.J. Hockenson can take him.

Last season’s QB14 has a shot to return from a glute injury in Week 3, and Washington would be a friendly welcome back party.

He is reportedly ahead of schedule and it’s worth stashing the Super Bowl winner, especially after what we saw Drew Lock do with the keys to this offense against Arizona.
