Add The New York Post on Google Newton, Massachusetts police are investigating an incident in which a white Mercedes crashed into the pro shop at Brae Burn Country Club in the wealthy West Newton suburb of Boston on Saturday.
The crash occurred around noon and left three people injured, including the driver of the car. All miraculously avoided serious injuries.
The two employees and driver of the car were taken to nearby Newton-Wellesley Hospital for treatment of minor, non-life threatening injuries.
The official cause of the crash remains under investigation, but police believe it was the result of an operator error and not intentional.
Alcohol does not appear to be a factor, per reports.
Surveillance video shows the car going up on a curb in a parking lot before crashing into the shop. The car went through a wall behind two employees.
The local fire department and city engineer were called in to investigate the structure, and they deemed it safe for the destroyed wall to be boarded up.
Brae Burn had another incident with a vehicle back in 2021, when an SUV got stuck on a tee box on the sixth hole.
The driver of the SUV claimed his GPS took him the wrong way through an authorized personnel-only area, causing him to wind up in the middle of the course.
Police responded to the scene and a tow truck had to remove the stuck vehicle. No charges were pressed.
Brae Burn, which first opened in 1897, is known for hosting the 1919 US Open and the 1928 US Amateur.
