Add The New York Post on Google Cowboys owner Jerry Jones shared a “dangerous” message after a much-needed 37-20 victory over the NFC East rival Commanders on Sunday.
“There is nothing more dangerous than an old man with money,” Jones told reporters while flashing a smile after his team’s home opener in Arlington in a video by the Star Telegram.
“Y’all hear that’s my quote of the day.”
Jones — who has an estimated net worth of $23.5 billion in 2026, per Forbes — hosted fellow billionaire and Amazon founder Jeff Bezos and his wife Lauren Bezos in his president suite at AT&T Stadium.
Quarterback Dak Prescott completed 26-of-31 passes for 279 yards and four touchdowns for a 143.8 passer rating.
He surpassed Tony Romo for the most touchdown throws in franchise history, totaling 249 — and posted his 79th career multi-touchdown effort, which also tied the former quarterback’s team record.
Cowboys wideout CeeDee Lamb finished with 153 receiving yards and two touchdowns.
Tight end Jake Ferguson caught all four of his targets for 43 yards, two of which were touchdowns.
Jones clearly was in better spirits after the season-opening loss to the Giants — when he was seen looking somber while exiting MetLife Stadium following a 28-20 loss last week.
After Week 1, Jones went “on the record” and explained that his team would turn things around in their home opener against Washington — and they did.
“The improvement, certainly from where we played Sunday, that improvement is to be expected and will be there,” Jones said last week. “I’m just gonna say it. It will be there.
“I know how hard these guys are working, I know their physical capabilities, and I also know their motivation. So, you’ll see improvement. I’ll go on the record as saying that.”
The Cowboys are the home team against the Ravens in Rio de Janeiro on Sunday.
