This afternoon, the defending Super Bowl champion Seattle Seahawks will face Jacoby Brissett’s 1-0 Arizona Cardinals in a Week 2 NFC West showdown at Glendale, AZ’s State Farm Stadium.
Week 1 was kind to Arizona and new head coach Mike LaFleur. The Cardinals shocked the world and beat Justin Herbert’s heavily-favored Los Angeles Chargers 26-14 on the road.
“You guys worked for this,” LaFleur, who made his coaching debut, told the team in a postgame locker room speech. “You earned this win. You guys put in the work, and I appreciate you guys so much for believing in it and believing the work works. Give it up for yourselves.”
Once again, the Cards are underdogs today with BetMGM giving Seattle a 4.5-point advantage.
However, the team is not at full strength. Starting quarterback Sam Darnold is sitting after suffering a right hip injury against the Patriots in their triumphant 13-10 season opener victory.
His backup, Drew Lock, who relieved him and completed 16 of 22 passes for 187 yards and a touchdown, gets the start today.
Will the Cardinals continue their winning ways? Or will Lock lock in and lead the Seahawks to their second consecutive win?
