Add The New York Post on Google Alabama is hoping to avoid a repeat of last year today.
As fans likely recall, Kalen DeBoer’s Crimson Tide came into Week 1 of the 2025 season as heavy favorites against Florida State and ended up getting upset 31-17 on the roads.
Once again, oddsmakers expect Bama to win this year — SportsData has them as 20.5-point favorites after their convincing victories over East Carolina and Kentucky in their first two contests — and this time Keelon Russell’s No. 10-ranked club wants revenge.
“In our minds, this is the 2026 team,” DeBoer said in a press conference. “I know there’s a lot of guys, including our staff, who know what it felt like walking off that football field.”
Ahead of this high-stakes match, Mike Norvell’s Seminoles routed New Mexico State 34-17 before losing a 27-24 heartbreaker to No. 16 SMU last week. Transfer quarterback Ashton Daniels completed 12 of 23 passes for 125 yards and a touchdown in the nailbiter defeat.
Forget that, though. The slates are clean, Norvell might be on the hot seat with something to prove and tensions will be running high in Tuscaloosa this afternoon.
