As the 2026 Oscars approach, Corey Feldman has claimed he was not asked to take part in a planned tribute to the late Rob Reiner at the awards show.
Feldman, who starred in Reiner’s 1986 film adaptation of Stephen King‘s novella Stand by Me, took to X on Friday (March 6) to “briefly mention this whole Oscars thing,” claiming that he “was not invited” to the tribute.
“I understand many believe it’s due 2 being outspoken about the abuse I suffered as a child & the campaign 2 silence me,” he wrote. “However this isn’t about me! It’s not my moment @ all! Its about the tragic loss of r friend Rob Reiner & his memory. So as much I appreciate all support, its very sweet of u… but please stop.”
Feldman also encouraged his supporters to “please take down any petitions 2 push 4 [his] presence @ the awards.”
“They don’t need me there, Will & Jerry got this I’m sure, they will do a fantastic job!” he added, referring to his Stand by Me co-stars Wil Wheaton and Jerry O’Connell. “… I’ll honor Rob my own way.”
DECIDER reached out to the Academy and a representative for Feldman for comment, but did not hear back by time of publication.

Reiner and his wife, Michele Singer Reiner, were found dead in their home in Brentwood, California on Dec. 14. Their son, Nick Reiner, was arrested that night, and has since pleaded not guilty to two counts of first-degree murder.
The Daily Mail reported on Thursday (March 5) that Feldman was “devastated” that he was not asked to be included in the tribute to Reiner alongside Wheaton and O’Connell, as well as When Harry Met Sally… stars Billy Crystal and Meg Ryan. Variety reported the day prior that Crystal and Ryan are set to reunite for the tribute to Reiner during the In Memoriam segment at this Sunday’s Oscars, alongside actors from other Reiner-directed films.
The 98th Academy Awards air live at 7 p.m. ET/4 p.m. PT on ABC and Hulu.
