As the Giants look to slow down the Hall of Fame-caliber quarterback Monday night in Los Angeles, they have an inside scoop on him via wide receivers coach Chad Hall.
Hall is Stafford’s brother-in-law — his sister, Kelly, is Stafford’s wife. Both families are expected to be in attendance.
“I get to see my nieces. It’s good,” Hall said before practice Friday. “In this business, it’s hard to see family, especially for these seven months — it’s seven days a week. So it’s good to see family. But it’s nothing more than that, we’re both competitors, we’re both out there trying to win.”
Hall — who played four seasons in the league as a receiver — is in his second season as an assistant with the Giants, having served as the team’s assistant quarterbacks coach last year. The Giants, The Post reported at the time, pursued a trade for Stafford last offseason when his contract situation with the Rams was in flux and were willing to give him a lucrative extension. Stafford ended up signing a one-year, $55 million extension with the Rams while the Giants pivoted to the draft, where they took Jaxson Dart with the No. 25 pick.

That was a fun couple of weeks.”
Hall had a significant role aiding in Dart’s development last year and is already garnering praise this year from the receiving corps.
“He’s live,” Malik Nabers said. “He’s live. If you know, you know, if you don’t, you don’t. He’s live, though. That’s a good thing. It’s a good thing.”

Corey Sipkin for the NY POST Offensive passing game coordinator and quarterbacks coach Brian Callahan will soon face his old Titans team — who fired him midway through last year before he finished his second season in charge — in Week 3. But he’s solely focused on the Week 2 clash against the Rams.
“Don’t think about them at all at the moment, to be honest,” Callahan said. “Have plenty on our plate to go get ready to play the Rams.”
His former quarterback, Cam Ward, last year’s No. 1 overall pick, has been heavily criticized after a rough Week 1 showing against the Jets that followed an unconvincing rookie season.

“I love Cam as a person and a player, I root for him,” Callahan said. “When we play him, I hope we do our part. I’m fully focused on what we got, we got a tough game ahead of us and a lot of things we got to do well and we’ll worry about that next week.’’
Defensive coordinator Dennard Wilson was away from the team Friday while dealing with a family situation. He is expected to return Saturday.
DL Chauncey Golston (neck), OL Sisi Mauigoa (shoulder), LB Micah McFadden (neck), CB Greg Newsome II (Rib) and OT Andrew Thomas (ankle) were all limited participants Friday.
