Divorce-battling billionaire buys $72M Palm Beach palace — and moves in with younger girlfriend

While his estranged wife battles him for a fortune in a New Jersey courtroom, hedge fund titan John Overdeck has settled into a $72 million Palm Beach waterfront palace with a new partner.

The Two Sigma co-founder, 56, bought the 16,000-square-foot spread through a Delaware shell called Avocado Enterprises, according to records reviewed by the Daily Mail. That is nearly triple the roughly 6,000-square-foot Short Hills, NJ, home he once shared with his ex-wife Laura.

He shares the Florida residence with Kimia Shadrokh, 42, a Peakstone managing director and former commercial real estate executive at the Moinian Group. Both gave the address when they registered to vote this spring, Florida records show.

Overdeck’s attorney, Jonathan W. Wolfe, confirmed the romance.

“John has been going through his divorce for more than four years,” he told the Daily Mail. Overdeck “is now in a committed relationship with someone who he met long after this divorce process began.”

The nearly 1-acre Neoclassical compound sits on the island’s exclusive north end, where Sylvester Stallone is among the neighbors.

It reportedly got a $20 million makeover before the couple arrived. It boasts six bedrooms, 7.5 bathrooms, a great hall with 26-foot ceilings, a travertine pool with a cabana and 165 feet of waterfront with a dock deep enough for a serious boat.

The LLC’s manager, Matthew Siano, spent about 20 years overseeing legal and compliance work at Two Sigma, according to his LinkedIn page.

The move comes as the couple’s divorce, filed in March 2022 after nearly 20 years of marriage and no prenup, grinds through New Jersey Family Court.

Overdeck, worth about $8 billion per Forbes, has offered Laura $723 million in tax-free cash. He testified that the figure is “fair.” She wants 35% of his Two Sigma stake, which her lawyer values at $6.2 billion and his lawyers put at $4.9 billion.

His camp argues the firm was founded before the 2002 wedding and is not marital property. Laura’s lawyer, Theresa Lyons, told the court he “methodically and strategically” plotted for decades to shield his wealth.

Laura’s filings also accuse him of shuffling billions into Wyoming trusts with help from Two Sigma staffers.

Laura’s own position is shaky. Judge Bruce Buechler barred her from testifying or presenting evidence after finding she accessed her husband’s private P.O. box and computer and photographed his emails with his lawyers, as The Post reported. Her team is appealing, so her best shot is grilling Overdeck on cross-examination.

The stakes reach beyond the couple. Overdeck and co-founder David Siegel each own roughly half of Two Sigma and are locked in a fight over control of it.
