Following their shocking 23-10 Week 1 victory over the Titans — Tennessee was predicted to win by almost all oddsmakers — Aaron Glenn’s club marches into their second game of the 2026 season with their heads held high.
This time around, Geno Smith and co. will take on Jordan Love’s 0-1 Green Bay Packers at East Rutherford, NJ’s MetLife Stadium on Sunday, Sept. 20.
“Excited about the game,” Glenn said in a press conference. “We know it’s gonna be a challenge…you never know how these games are going to turn out so we’re excited to put on a good showing in our first home game.”

At the time of publication, the lowest price we could find on seats was $92 including fees on Vivid Seats.
Coming into this Meadowlands matchup, Green Bay is considered the favorite and given a 3.5-point edge by pundits.
Yet, the Jets don’t think there’s any reason to count them out just yet in the battle of Aaron Rodgers’ former teams.
According to ESPN’s Rich Cimini, “Geno Smith has a strong history against the Packers’ defensive coordinator, Jonathan Gannon [and] is undefeated in four matchups against Gannon…with six TD passes and only two interceptions…(when he faced the Cardinals as the Seahawks’ QB).”
Plus, rookie cornerback D’Angelo Ponds is slated to make his NFL debut.
On the downside, Glenn announced ahead of the game that the team would be without safety Minkah Fitzpatrick, wideout Omar Cooper Jr., running back Kene Nwangwu and edge rusher Joseph Ossai.
Can the Jets pull off a second huge upset and go 2-0 for the first time since 2015 before taking on the Lions in Week 3 and Bears in Week 4 on the road?
