Add The New York Post on Google Christopher Macchio is getting another curtain call.
“America’s tenor” is returning to his roots and will sing the national anthem at his alma mater as Sachem North opens at home against William Floyd on Friday night.
“It just puts everything full circle,” Macchio, who iconically performed the “Star-Spangled Banner” at President Trump’s second inauguration and sang several more events for his administration, told The Post.

Getty Images High school-aged Macchio certainly didn’t have the confidence to tour across the globe — or belt out “America the Beautiful” from the field of the World Cup Final at MetLife Stadium, as he did in July.
Macchio had such bad stage fright that he was willing to fail music class to avoid a public performance as a teen.
One choral teacher wouldn’t have it and showed the shy singer tough but necessary love.
“The way that that teacher put it to me is that you have a gift from God,” Macchio said, “and therefore an obligation to share that gift.”
Macchio’s instructor helped him find the courage to share his divine vocals, which Trump often compares to Luciano Pavarotti’s, with the world.
The opera star finally broke the spell of shyness by singing at Sachem events, notably football games, before graduating.
“That was probably the first time I ever sang in front of a stadium,” Macchio recalled. “It’s so great to be back where it all started.”
