Jared Young gets stretchered off field after scary Mets collision with Nolan McLean

Add The New York Post on Google Thursday’s Mets-Phillies game took a scary pause when first baseman Jared Young was carted off the field after he collided with ace Nolan McLean.

With two outs in the top of the sixth, the Phillies Brandon Crawford hit a slow roller between McLean and Young. When McLean didn’t get to the ball by the time it rolled onto the infield dirt, Young tried to dive for it before his head crashed into McLean’s right knee.

Both players immediately went down, with trainers coming to attend to Young, who was lying on the dirt. He was eventually helped onto a stretcher and put in a neck brace before being carted off the field. McLean, while shaken up, remained in the game once it came back from a delay.
