Add The California Post on Google Pat McAfee might want to think twice about what he does on his show.
During Thursday’s episode of “The Pat McAfee Show,” a short eight-second clip emerged on social media of McAfee attempting to put out a lit item.
It’s unknown what McAfee was putting out, but the item was placed into an ashtray and was followed by smoke rising out of it.
If McAfee was smoking, it wouldn’t be the first time he’s done this on set, as he was spotted taking a hit from a vape pen during his set of the “Draft Spectacular,” which took place before the 2025 NFL Draft in Green Bay, Wis.
McAfee has also spoken about his love for marijuana on the “All the Smoke” podcast.
The news of McAfee putting out a lit item comes three months after it was reported by The Athletic that he and ESPN agreed to a new deal that would pay him over $60 million per year.
The two sides still have yet to make the deal official.
McAfee’s looming deal with ESPN came during a time over the summer when the company had a mass layoff that included Ryan Clark, Tom Pelissero, Mike Garafolo and Karl Ravech.

The “Pat McAfee Show” originally began in February 2017 and officially debuted on ESPN in September 2023.
