Add The California Post on Google A 3.1-magnitude earthquake rattled the Los Angeles area Thursday afternoon.

The tremor struck at 1:32 p.m., with its epicenter about 2.5 miles southeast of Compton.

It comes after another 3.2-magnitude quake struck overnight on September 6 near the same city at eight miles below the surface.
