League One Volleyball Los Angeles named Savannah James as an investor ahead of its inaugural 2026-27 season.
While LeBron and his sons have embraced basketball, Zhuri James chose to go another route and play volleyball. In April, Zhuri kicked off the LOVB Championship in Long Beach by delivering the ceremonial first serve ahead of the match.
Just a few months later, Savannah is officially an investor with the league’s new Los Angeles team, the city’s newest professional sports franchise.
“I’ve seen firsthand through my daughter Zhuri how powerful volleyball can be for young girls, the confidence, discipline and sense of community it creates,” Savannah said.
“LOVB is an incredible league with elite athletes and a level of competition that is only going to continue to grow. I’m excited to be part of LOVB Los Angeles and to help build something special that girls like Zhuri can aspire to be part of one day.”
LOVB features several of volleyball’s most renowned athletes such as former Nebraska Cornhusker Lexi Rodriguez. Rodriguez earned her stripes as a libero for Nebraska under storied head coach John Cook.
As a Cornhusker, Rodriguez became the program’s all-time leader in digs and earned first-team All-America honors all four years of her college career. The beloved libero now plays for LOVB’s Nebraska squad.
LOVB Los Angeles will also have star power on its roster with Olympic medalist and setter Carli Lloyd. Fans can watch the team at Intuit Dome, which is the team’s official home venue.
LOVB Los Angeles is set to unveil its official team name, logo and brand identity on Sept. 25. The franchise will also host its first Fan Fest the following day on Sept .26, which gives fans the opportunity to meet players, experience Intuit Dome as the team’s home venue and celebrate the arrival of professional women’s volleyball in the city.
