Before the Giants’ 28-20 “Sunday Night Football” victory over the Cowboys, Skattebo was seen driving to the stadium in his raised Ford pickup truck and fans pointed out that the star running back was stuck in traffic among them.
“Go Skattebo,” fans yelled from the car as he acknowledged them with a hand gesture. “Go over them.”
Skattebo then jumped above his seat and yelled at the cars ahead of him, screaming, “Let’s go!” to the surrounding vehicles.
“Let me in. I’m the running back,” Skattebo was heard yelling, according to TMZ.
The Giants’ superstar running back may have arrived at the same time as tailgating fans; it is unclear whether he was late, but he apparently arrived around 5:50 p.m., roughly 2.5 hours before kickoff.
When he arrived, Skattebo wore Jaxson Dart’s high school jersey.
The Giants’ quarterback attended Corner Canyon High School in Draper, Utah.
Skattebo also made his arrival when he scored the opening touchdown on a wide-open counter from the goal line.
After his touchdown that gave the Giants a 7-0 lead, Skattebo landed his always eye-catching backflip combination, though he nearly landed on the pile-on, which almost definitely would have caused an injury.
Skattebo finished with 81 yards on 18 carries and a touchdown, though he wasn’t targeted in the passing game.
Devin Singletary appears to have carved out a decent role, with six carries for 16 yards and four catches for 22 yards and a touchdown in a bizarre series of plays where the Giants appeared to run the same play consecutively for a score.
