Add The New York Post on Google Sam Darnold is officially a no-go in Week 2 for the Seahawks.
But there’s plenty of optimism in Seattle that the quarterback won’t be off the field for long.
Darnold, injured (glute) on the first drive of the NFL season, was ruled out for the Seahawks’ Week 2 game against the Cardinals. Nevertheless, head coach Mike Macdonald said Wednesday the team does not intend to play Darnold on injured reserve.

ESPN reported that the Seahawks believe Darnold could miss four weeks with the injury, with one source telling the Worldwide Leader that it is possible the signal-caller could return for a Week 5 game against the rival 49ers.
The Seahawks dodged the worst, as it appeared Darnold could have suffered a significant hip injury when he was removed from the Week 1 opener after a hit from the Patriots.
Macdonald told reporters that Darnold is now “killing it” in his rehab process.
Drew Lock entered the game and went 16-for-22 on his passes for 187 yards and one touchdown as Seattle knocked off New England in a Super Bowl rematch.

As of now, Macdonald said the team doesn’t plan to sign another quarterback.
“Drew’s known he’s going to start here for a while,” Macdonald added.
“So I’m looking forward to seeing him practice today, just like I am Sam when he’s playing.”
