It was a quiet offseason for Mathieu Darche, who bet on injury returnees, internal development and the impact of coach Pete DeBoer — hired with four games left last season — in the short term as opposed to any major acquisitions.

Despite the quiet offseason, the Islanders enter Thursday with a lot to figure out over the 13-day sprint to opening night.
