Anna Wintour spotted at Thom Browne NYFW show with top Met Gala curator amid John Galliano fiasco

The Conde Nast creative director and the Met’s Costume Institute curator in charge attended designer Thom Browne Spring/Summer 2027 fashion show at The Shed in Hudson Yards. (Bolton and Browne are a high-powered couple in the fashion and art world.)

Said a source upon seeing Wintour and Bolton seated together: “Anna is brave. The trustees [of the museum] are still really pissed.”

Wintour reportedly pushed the Met to fete disgraced designer Galliano — the onetime Dior and Givenchy fashion maven who became known as a convicted antisemite who once declared, “I love Hitler.”

But the selection of Galliano, 65, to be celebrated at the Met ended in disaster — when scores of wealthy museum donors, Jewish leaders and others demanded that the honor be rescinded. Galliano then backed out instead.

The New York Times had previously reported that Wintour, Galliano and Bolton had met over the course of a year with “influential rabbis and Jewish leaders” in New York City “to get their thoughts on the potential issues with next year’s planned fashion extravaganza — a show dedicated to Galliano’s work — and perhaps their blessing for it.”

Bolton also told the Times in July that he “had been considering a Galliano show since 2010, though he had not gotten serious about it until 2024,” and he outlined some of the plans that were being made to address what he referred to as “the rupture,” referencing Galliano’s shocking behavior.

Either way, Wintour and Bolton will presumably be spending more time together away from NYFW as they come up with a backup plan now that Galliano is gone, unless the gala gets canceled.

There’s just months until the iconic “first Monday in May” when the Met Gala usually takes place.

Stars at the Thom Browne show also included Demi Moore, Liev Schreiber and Naomi Watts, Britt Lower and Adam Scott of “Severance,” and Penn Badgley.
