Add The New York Post on Google A Louisiana home care worker has been accused of giving a disabled patient bleach as disturbing security camera video captured the moment he told the man to drink the cleaning product.
Reginald Wilson, 30, was seen carefully pouring the liquid out of a plastic tank on Monday afternoon, video shared online by the man’s family shows, before he fessed up to tampering with the drink when confronted by furious relatives, police told WCTV.
The Lake Charles patient was sitting in the living room when Wilson, who was dressed in black scrubs, grabbed the bottle and went into the kitchen, according to the home security video.
Home care worker Reginald Andre Wilson, 30, is accused of giving bleach to the person he was hired to care for in Louisiana. Wilson, a worker for Heaven on Earth, which provides daily living assistance and personal care, then grabbed the tank containing the bleach, poured it into a bottle, shook the liquid and returned it to the patient, the video shows.
Lake Charles cops said the patient said the drink tasted like bleach, WCTV reported.
Wilson confessed to a family member that he poured the cleaning substance into the bottle, according to cops.
Wilson was arrested by cops and faces a charge of faces charges of mingling harmful substances. Calcasieu Parish Sheriffs Office He faces charges of mingling harmful substances, cruelty to persons with infirmities and aggravated battery.
Wilson could face a prison sentence of up to two years and/or a fine up to $1,000 if convicted of the mingling harmful substances charge.
Heaven on Earth condemned Wilson’s actions, but didn’t disclose additional details due to HIPPA law.
“Heaven On Earth Network Inc. administration and staff are deeply saddened to see what transpired in the recent video shared on social media concerning a client and one of our staff members. I would like to start off by saying that our client’s health and safety is our number one priority and that any abuse is not tolerated by our agency,” the health care service said.
“We immediately took action and removed the worker and transported client to ER to be evaluated. We are working with local authorities as well as state agencies according to our policies and procedures.”
The Post has approached Heaven on Earth for comment.
