CloseWelsh actor Matthew Rhys described the "surreal and incredible feeling" after making history on Monday by becoming the first person to win two lead acting prizes in one night.

Rhys was recognised at the prestigious US ceremony for his roles in supernatural TV comedy Widow's Bay and psychological thriller The Beast In Me.

Speaking to the BBC, Rhys said he wasn't expecting to win the first award for The Beast In Me.

"I hadn't really prepared anything, as may be apparent from the vomit of a speech I came up with," he explained.
