Add The New York Post on Google It’s time to return to Slough House again as the sixth season of “Slow Horses” premieres on Apple TV tomorrow, Sept. 16.
The spy thriller series stars Sir Gary Oldman as Jackson Lamb, the head of Slough House. Slough House is a banishment assignment for MI5 service rejects who have messed up on the job quite badly, but not badly enough to get fired entirely.
Life in Slough House is defined by monotony and dull routine tasks, yet the “slow horses” (as they call themselves) somehow get involved in investigating cases that endanger Britain.
Season 6 “sees the Slow Horses on the run as Diana Taverner (Kristin Scott Thomas) embroils them all in a fatally high-stakes game of retaliation and revenge,” per Apple TV’s official synopsis. The new season also features “House of the Dragon” star Olivia Cooke reprising her Season 1 role as Sid Baker.
At yesterday’s Primetime Emmys, Saul Metzstein, who directed all of “Slow Horses” Season 6, won outstanding directing for a drama Series. It was also honored with nominations in eight other categories, including outstanding drama series, outstanding lead actor (for Oldman), outstanding supporting actor (Jack Lowden), outstanding writing and outstanding direction.
