Add The New York Post on Google A popular Japanese pornstar who reportedly died by suicide had recently accused her ex-boyfriend of a shocking hit-and-run attack and of breaking into her home to steal valuables.
The body of 25-year-old Hana Kuraki was found at an apartment in Tokyo’s red-light district that belonged to her ex-boyfriend, former music idol Shota Taira, 29, on Saturday, reports said.
Shortly before her death, Kuraki is alleged to have left a note accusing Shota of assault and also breaking into her home and stealing valuables in November, Sportschosun reported.

Instagram/@hana_kuraki87 Shota was reportedly arrested after the alleged assault in December, and when Kuraki refused to settle out of court, his father is alleged to have made threats as well, the note claimed.
Kuraki reportedly wrote that she eventually agreed to a settlement over fears the case could affect her career but Shota that didn’t honor the terms.
Shota is also alleged to have attacked Kuraki in a hit-and-run in June after he turned up at her house and took two iPhones when she broke up with him, Sportschosun reported.
As Kuraki tried to stop Shota, she was allegedly dragged along by his Maybach and suffered serious injuries to her face and jaw, according to local media.

“Announcement: I’ve decided to take a break for a while, so I’ll be suspending activities for a certain period. (I do want to keep up with filming if I can). As for the events currently scheduled, I’ll provide an update when I can,” she wrote in a post on X.
Shota has not issued a statement about Kuraki’s death.
It’s unclear how she died. Her body was found by a friend, according to a post shared on social media by the owner of a nearby bar who knew Shota.
The bar owner called for people to stop spreading rumors and speculation about Shota’s death.
“I hope that no further harm comes to the deceased or those around her through misinformation or speculation,” he wrote.
“I also hope for a world free of people who use violence to control others or drive them to such desperate straits,” he said.
