Mom learns missing autistic son was found alive during presser with sheriff: ‘Praise the Lord!’

Add The New York Post on Google A Florida mom was told her missing son had been found safe while she was in the middle of a press conference begging for help in finding him.

Olga Adcock was making her public appeal Monday for help finding her son Benjamin, a 16-year-old with autism, when someone interrupted them to break the news that “he’s been found.”

“Oh my goodness gracious!,” St. Johns County Sheriff Rob Hardwick said, turning to hug the mom who added: “Praise the Lord!”

“Wow, there is light at the end of the tunnel,” she said during the heartwarming embrace before thanking the sheriff.

The teen had been missing nearly 48 hours after wandering off from his home in St. Augustine just after noon on Saturday.

The search for him involved K9 teams, drones, helicopters and volunteers.

He was finally found by a good Samaritan who recognized him from an appeal photo shared on social media.
