Meg Stalter arrived at the Emmys 2026 red carpet Monday night dressed as a gilded award statuette — covered in gold paint from head-to-toe and complete with wings and a huge golden atom, the elements of the trophy symbolizing the arts and sciences in television.
The “Hacks” comedian’s outfit was a departure from last year’s viral jeans-and-T-shirt moment, which paired light-wash Levi’s and a Hanes tee with a tote reading “Cease fire!”
Stalter posed on the red carpet with “Hacks” co-star Paul W. Downs, hoisting the atom aloft while he put his arms around her gold-painted waist. (Foreshadowing a win later tonight, perhaps?)
The 35-year-old is up for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Comedy for playing Kayla Schaefer in the fifth and final season of HBO Max’s “Hacks” — her first Emmy nomination.
She’s competing against her castmate Hannah Einbinder, who won the category last year, plus Janelle James (“Abbott Elementary”), Michelle Pfeiffer (“Margo’s Got Money Troubles”) and Jessica Williams (“Shrinking”).
Stalter teamed up with Downs at the Critics Choice Awards in January for a pithc-perfect red carpet parody. The comedians cosplayed as Kylie Jenner and Timothée Chalamet in matching bright orange outfits — knockoffs of the leather Chrome Hearts ensembles the couple wore to the “Marty Supreme” premiere the month prior.
The comedian also starred in a Vivaia shoe campaign with New York fashion icon Jenna Lyons last month — though she told Page Six she “really” doesn’t wear heels in general.
Stalter made her Broadway debut in “Oh, Mary!” as Mary Todd Lincoln in July, wrapping her 10-week Lyceum Theatre run Saturday.
She stars as Jessica Salmon in Lena Dunham’s Netflix comedy “Too Much” and this year released her debut single, “Prettiest Girl in America.”
