Alonso Alvarado, 16, was behind the wheel of a 2010 Chevrolet Silverado pickup truck and driving with his 10-year-old sister and brother, 18, when he came off the road and smashed into a tree near Steele, Alabama, on Friday, Al.com reported.
He was pronounced dead at the scene while his sister, Lia Alvarado, was rushed to the hospital where she later died.

“Our family is heartbroken and trying to process an unimaginable amount of pain all at once,” she wrote.
“Rest in peace, Alonso Alvarado and Lia Miriam Alvarado. You will be deeply missed, forever loved, and never forgotten.”
The siblings were enrolled in schools across the St. Clair County School district and were killed just a month after returning following the summer break.
“There is nothing I can say that makes a day like this any easier,” Rusty St. John, the school district’s superintendent, said.
His 10-year-old sister, Lia Alvarado, died in hospital. Gofundme Lia has been described as a “sweet girl” by staffers at a head start center she previously attended.
Stephanie Nelson, who helped run a Christmas in July event, said she had known Lia since the girl was in kindergarten.
“She was one of the children we were blessed to support, and it has been such a gift getting to know her over the years,” she wrote in a social media tribute.
The cause of the crash is still being investigated but Alabama Law Enforcement Agency officials have confirmed none of the three people inside the pickup truck were wearing their seat belts.
