At 4:25 p.m. today, the revamped Los Angeles Chargers will launch their 2026 season against Jacoby Brissett’s scrappy Arizona Cardinals.
Coming into the matchup, oddsmaker give the Bolts an 8.5-point advantage over the Redbirds due to their “new [offensive] coordinator[,] healthy tackles [Rashawn Slater,Joe Alt and] new system,” according to USA Today.
As for Arizona, new head coach Mike LaFleur hopes that star rookie running back and difference-maker Jeremiyah Love will make his NFL debut this afternoon after the 21-year-old underwent a high ankle sprain in a preseason game against the Raiders.
“I feel good [about his chances],” LaFleur said.If Love sits out, backups Tyler Allegier and Bam Knight may take the bulk of carries for the Cards.
Stars Trey McBride, Marvin Harrison Jr. and Michael Wilson are all slated to suit up as well today.
Keep an eye on this relatively low-profile contest- it just might end up being one of the most entertaining Week 1 games.
