Add The New York Post on Google A Long Island man stabbed a 65-year-old guy in the neck during a meeting in the basement of a Suffolk County church last week, police said.
Daniel Escobar, 33, of Bay Shore is accused of attacking the victim in a scuffle in the basement of First United Methodist Church in Amityville around 8:30 p.m. Friday, then fleeing, according to cops.

The victim was taken to a local hospital with serious injuries, police said.
First United Methodist Church in Amityville was hosting a meeting when the violence broke out. Escobar was led out of the First Precinct in handcuffs Saturday and taken to Suffolk County court, where he was arraigned on first-degree assault charges.
Judge Mary Catherine Mullen ordered him held on $150,000 cash bail or a $300,000 bond.
Police have not disclosed the nature of the dispute that led to the stabbing, nor is it clear what type of meeting was being held at the church, which hosts a variety of community groups.
