It was late Friday morning, in his news conference before the final practice ahead of the Jets season opener, and Glenn had fielded a question about the interception drought — that interception drought — and any relief that would follow if they finally ended that streak Sunday.
“I think it would be a relief to hear you guys stop talking about it, first and foremost,” Glenn said with a smile.

That, besides the return of Geno Smith, has been one of the most prominent storylines of the offseason. It became inevitable when the Jets were the first team in NFL history to go an entire season without an interception. Brandon Stephens said last month that he thinks about it “in my sleep.” Gang Green broke out into a celebration after Andre Cisco picked off a pass in a preseason game, and that captured the weight of the streak following the Jets into their new season.
Stephens and newcomer Nahshon Wright downplayed any possible relief. But Jarvis Brownlee Jr. told The Post there would “no doubt” be some. And if they can pick off second-year Titans quarterback Cam Ward on Sunday, it would mark the first sign of an early statement by the Jets and their overhauled secondary — that the ignominious reality of last season won’t repeat again in 2026.
