Add The New York Post on Google Selena Gomez is saying goodbye to the Los Angeles mansion where she once cooked up a storm on “Selena + Chef” — though the final sale price came in a little underdone.
The singer and actress has sold her longtime Encino estate for $5.39 million, roughly $1.1 million shy of the $6.49 million asking price it carried when it hit the market in May.
But no need for a sad song: Gomez, 34, still came out ahead of the $4.89 million she paid for the sprawling compound in 2020.
The nearly 11,500-square-foot home sits on just under an acre and comes with six bedrooms, 8½ bathrooms — and enough celebrity history to rival its square footage, as The Post previously reported.
Long before Gomez moved in, rock legend Tom Petty had the home custom-built in 1989 and owned it until 2017, when it was sold just months before his death.
The house still carries traces of its rock ’n’ roll past, including a vocal booth on the lower level believed to have been part of Petty’s original recording studio.
That level is practically a compound of its own, with a creative work area, a wine cellar, a gym, a massage room, a den, a kitchen and a guest suite.
Then came Gomez, who added another dose of pop culture to the property.
After buying the home in 2020, she turned its kitchen into a familiar TV backdrop, filming the first three seasons of her HBO Max cooking series “Selena + Chef” there.
The property had already undergone a major renovation before Gomez bought it and was pitched as a private celebrity compound when it returned to the market this spring.
Inside are soaring ceilings, multiple living and entertaining spaces, two primary suites and a movie theater.
The backyard is equally ready for showtime, with a swimming pool and spa fed by a cascading waterfall and stream, plus a cabana and bar, a fire pit and an outdoor dining area.
She has moved on to considerably pricier digs with her husband, music producer Benny Blanco.
The couple purchased a $35 million Beverly Hills estate in an off-market deal in December 2024 — the same week they became engaged.
Spread across two lots, their new compound includes a seven-bedroom, 12-bath main residence and two separate guesthouses. One comes with its own studio, while the other houses a home theater.
The blockbuster purchase ranked among Beverly Hills’ priciest deals of 2024.
Gomez has since teased glimpses of her new surroundings on social media, including a colorful kitchen with blue cabinetry and vibrant shelving, along with a lush backyard and rose-covered patio.
So while the Encino home may have sold below ask, Gomez is leaving with a profit — and closing the book on a house that has served as both a rock star’s recording retreat and a pop star’s televised kitchen.
