Aliens might not have built the Egyptian pyramids, but that apparently doesn’t mean they didn’t serve a higher purpose.
Independent researcher Sefy Levy argued that the Great Pyramid’s proportions comprise a secret numeric system that was designed to last long after the builders had gone.
In the yet-to-be-peer reviewed paper in the journal SSRN, the scientist declared that these hidden hieroglyphics are embedded in the 4,500-year-old pyramid’s height, base, sloping sides and overall shape like an Egyptological “Da Vinci Code.”
Much like an ancient Mayan calendar, these measurements parallel the cycles of the moon, calendar and planets visible to the naked eye.
Therefore, Levy deduced that these patterns were designed to preserve the ancient Egyptians’ knowledge of math, astronomy and other subjects for eternity, indicating that the Great Pyramid was more than just a funerary monument erected for the Pharaoh Khufu as the textbooks claim, the Daily Mail reported.
“The pyramid is not a container for knowledge,” the researcher declared. “It is the knowledge, made stone.”
To determine that these astronomical easter eggs were hiding in plain sight, Levy divided the pyramid’s key measurements using fractions employed by ancient Egyptian scribes, finding that the results mirrored important numbers in mathematics and astronomy.
For instance, one of the results, 27.5, was eerily close to the 27.55-day interval between successive lunar perigees, the point in the moon’s orbit when it’s closest to Earth.
Levy posited that another answer, 70, symbolized the 70 days that the star Sirius disappears from view, obscured by the sun’s glare.
Other calculations appeared to match the recurring movements of Saturn, Jupiter, Venus and Mars across our sky.
Along with astronomical data, Levy claimed the Great Pyramid’s dimensions matched pi and the golden ratio or phi — the so-called mathematical representation of beauty.
To prove this wasn’t a coincidence, the researcher then applied the same test to 100,000 computer-generated models of Old Kingdom-style pyramids boasting differing dimensions.
He found that 2,419, or just 2.4 percent, of the measurements matched said patterns in math and astronomy, suggesting that the Great Pyramid indeed had a code purposefully concealed within its walls.
In fact, Levy believes that the Great Pyramid wasn’t erected to commemorate Khufu, but rather as a monument to Benben, the primordial mound in Heliopolitan mythology where creation started.
The researcher believes that this fictional locale matches the Eye of the Sahara — a moatlike formation in Mauritania with a promontory in the middle where he believes that the forebears of the ancient Egyptians resided.
When this region dried up during a drought, the refugees migrated to the Nile, and then erected the pyramids as a tribute to their ancestral land.
Currently, there is no evidence to support this theory.
However, this is part of a spate of pyramid-based conspiracy theories to crop up of late.
In the Spring, Italian researchers claim they potentially discovered evidence of a Sphinx located beneath the Pyramids of Giza, suggesting the existence of a sprawling subterranean citadel.
He explained that the lines between the pyramids to the known Sphinx also point to a parallel mound under which the second feline facsimile supposedly resides.
