Dom “Big Dom” DiSandro, the Eagles’ security czar, is being investigated by the NFL regarding allegations made by ex-NFLer Emmanuel Acho that one of his former teams once influenced an investigation into a car accident by saying he’d send a favorable police officer to the scene who would pin it on the other driver, according to longtime Philadelphia reporter Derrick Gunn.
The specific team was not named nor was DiSandro referenced by Acho.
The Post reached out to the NFL for comment Thursday morning but had not heard back.
Acho, the FS1 star who also hosts the “Speakeasy” podcast, only suited up for the Eagles during his career, although he spent time with the Browns and Giants.
He revealed for the first time last month on his podcast in the aftermath of 49ers coach Kyle Shanahan’s car accident that he rear-ended a car en route to practice one day.
“I hit one of our security people. He says, ‘Acho, when the cop shows up, send the cop away. I’m going to send you another cop and that other cop is going to say it wasn’t your fault, it was their fault.’ I was like, ‘Wait, they do that?’ So, I hit him,” the former linebacker said. “Cop comes up. ‘Hey, everything good?’ I’m like, ‘Everything’s good, don’t worry about it. Somebody is going to come here. That cop leaves. We send another cop. The other cop that comes to document says she’s at fault. I was like, ‘Yo, this is crazy.'”
Such a scenario obviously goes against the law and indicates that both the police officer in question and said NFL team conspired to alter a situation to their benefit.
Acho said he did not feel bad about the situation, though, because the person he hit learned of his identity and he alleged they used that information to their benefit.
“And they were like, ‘Ah, man, I’ve been in the hospital for the last couple of weeks with a back, my daughter, concussions, da di da da da. Our head of security had to offer them two home tickets, plus signed jerseys and then they were like, ‘Oh, no, we’re fine,” Acho said.
One of the show’s co-hosts later stated how Acho only spent time with the Browns, Eagles and Giants during his brief career.
The Browns drafted him in the sixth round in 2012 before trading him to the Eagles in 2013, who cut him before he joined the Giants’ practice squad.
Philadelphia then claimed Acho that November and he appeared in six games that season before playing in 14 the following year.
The Eagles waived him the following August and re-signed him in November, although he did not appear in any games with the team before being released again.
Former Eagles star running back and “Speakeasy” co-host LeSean heard the story and did not react in any way that indicated he knew of the situation.
The two spent two years together with the Eagles from 2013-14.
Former Eagles cornerback Asante Samuel, though, called out Acho even though the two did not spend time together with the franchise.
“Like I said before, watch who you do business with,” he wrote in a quote tweet of the allegations. “We have an investigation going on because fool is dying for attention and a gossip queen smfh.”
DiSandro joined the Eagles in 1999 and his official title is senior advisor to the general manager/chief security officer/head of gameday coaching operations.
His team biography states he “oversees all safety and security matters for players, coaches, and executives. He also directs security at the team’s training complex, is responsible for security measures related to team travel and logistics and provides education on the NFL’s personal conduct policy.”
He is the NFL’s most high-profile security staffer, receiving a sideline ban 2023 after engaging in a sideline spat with then-49ers star Dre Greenlaw.
