Add The New York Post on Google Aaron Rodgers went deep Thursday, bringing up old stories including his engagement to actress Shailene Woodley.
On a part-two episode of “Not Just Football with Cam Heyward,” Rodgers claimed he didn’t “ruin” Woodley’s life but she instead left him for another man in 2022.
“I proposed to Shailene and she said yes. Now, she maybe felt like she was forced to make a decision. She could have said no,” he said. “A couple days after that she tells me, ‘Before we get married, I gotta go f–k this guy,’ and I’m like — because her story is that I ruined her life and gave her crazy depression because I left her. But in actuality, she told me that and then she took off the ring by March — I proposed in December — and we had a couple of times where we tried to get reunited and nothing ever happened. There wasn’t even a relationship in 2022 to break off.

Rodgers also referenced another failed relationship while teeing off on Woodley, with ex-flame Danica Patrick being singled out during the segment.
“The height of their fame was when they were with me,” he said. “They get clicks when they say my name, just like the idiots on TV because I am a lightning rod, because people actually give a s–t and there is a silent majority that’s like, ‘I like this guy, he stands for something.’ There’s a group of people that are like, ‘I like the old guy.’ … Stop talking about me, you’re not relevant, move on with your life. You’re lying.
“I’m actually a good partner. I don’t wish you any harm … and Shai, you left me, you took the ring off. What are we talking about regarding me ruining your life?”
The 42-year-old Super Bowl champ proposed to the “Divergent” star in December 2021 before things were cut off in March 2022, a little more than a year after the two made their relationship public.

“I had a really awful, traumatic thing happen in early 2022,” Woodley said, without getting into specific detail about her trauma. “I felt like I lost my soul, my self, my happiness, my joy. I really understood depression and anxiety and, like, complete soul detachment.”
She said she chose to stay in a “toxic situation” because she was empathizing with “someone else” but Woodley did not name the person.
Woodley said her depression began to fade six months after her traumatic experience, and much of that came from the help of her stylist Kris Zero.
“I knew I was depressed when I looked at a tree and felt nothing. That was the lowest low of my life,” she added.
Rodgers is in his swang song NFL year as he stated he plans to retire following the 2026 season.
The Steelers host Atlanta on Sunday to begin their season.
