Gruffalo illustrator says rise of AI images 'worrying'

CloseThe illustrator for the Gruffalo books has said images created by artificial intelligence (AI) are "worrying".

Axel Scheffler said AI pictures are "a breach of copyright" and lose their charm when compared to the hand-drawn originals.

He was speaking to the BBC alongside author Dame Julia Donaldson for the launch of their new book Gruffalo Granny, with Dame Julia reading an extract.
