Add The New York Post on Google Drake Maye committed three costly turnovers for the second straight game against the Seahawks, and the Patriots lost their Super Bowl rematch on Wednesday night in Seattle.
Maye’s third interception of the fourth quarter came on a forced throw into the end zone with 26 seconds remaining with the Patriots already in range for a potential game-tying field goal in a 13-10 season-opening loss to the Seahawks.
With the Patriots trailing by three on the Seattle 16-yard line, Seahawks cornerback Josh Jobe picked off Maye’s pass into the end zone intended for wide receiver Mack Hollins to seal the game.
Maye finished the opener 23-for-33 for 178 yards and one touchdown pass, in addition to the three picks.
He also had committed three turnovers — two interceptions and a fumble — in a 29-13 loss to Seattle in February in the Super Bowl.
