Ricky Martin is certainly Livin La Vida Loca with his new hairstyle.
The 90s singer debuted his bold new look while attending his first ever Venice International Film Festival over the weekend to promote his new Spanish movie, “Hombre Al Agua,” which translates to “Man Overboard” in English.
The 54-year-old looked as refined as ever as he suited up for the event in a fancy Giorgio Armani white silky blazer and black trousers.
But while it was business down below, it was party on top with his new ’do.
Quite the departure from his usually spiked, brunette hair, Martin’s style is now a much lighter buzzcut.
Even the singer’s facial hair looked noticeably lighter as he posed on the red carpet with co-star Manuel Garcia-Rulfo and Gael Garcia Bernal, who also directed the movie.
In the comedy-drama, Bernal stars as a Cuban lifeguard named Camilo whose life takes an unexpected turn when he rescues a powerful Mexican businessman named Abel from drowning in the Caribbean Sea.
As a thank you, Abel brings Camilo to Mexico and the hero lifeguard ends up marrying Abel’s daughter.
Martin — who is also the movie’s executive producer — plays Roby in the film, an actor hired to portray Camilo in a biopic within the story.
Bernal recently praised Martin for his role in the film. Speaking to Deadline just weeks ago, Bernal said he had Martin in mind for the role but wasn’t sure he could land the global superstar.
“Ricky was one of those wonderful accidents,” Bernal told the outlet.
“He was the first person I imagined for the role, but it seemed like such a crazy, almost impossible idea that I kept his name to myself for most of the development process.”
“The part only required one day of shooting, so we kept saying, ‘We’ll find someone.’ Then, shortly before we started shooting, I managed to get his number and called him. Before I had even really explained the project, he said, ‘Whatever you want.’”
“Hombre Al Agua” is Martin’s first full Spanish-language film role in more than two decades.
The two-time Grammy winner most recently appeared in the 2014 TV drama “Palm Royale” alongside Kristen Wiig and Josh Lucas.
Martin also starred on the award-winning series “The Assassination of Gianni Versace: American Crime Story” in 2018, playing Antonio D’Amico, the long-term partner of the fashion designer.
