Overall, Manaea was charged for four earned runs on five hits with four strikeouts.
It continued a pattern of Manaea starting strong before encountering trouble the third (or in this case toward the latter end of the second) time through the lineup.
It certainly helped that the Mets built a seven-run lead for Manaea by hitting three home runs against Sandy Alcantara.

Brian Navarreto followed with an RBI double and Heriberto Hernandez’s single put runners on the corners.
Otto Lopez’s RBI single concluded Manaea’s night.
It was a fifth straight start in which Manaea allowed at least four earned runs. Over that stretch he’s pitched to a 6.75 ERA.
It followed a stretch of four starts by Manaea where he allowed two earned runs or fewer and pitched at least six innings.
He’s pitched to a 4.79 ERA overall in the second season of a three-year contract worth $75 million.
Francisco Lindor and Juan Soto homered in consecutive innings to begin the game, spearheading the offensive attack.
Brett Baty also homered on a night the Mets led 6-0 after three innings against Alcantara.
Lindor went deep on the game’s first pitch, jumping on a sinker to clear the center field fence.
The Mets added another run in the inning on Jared Young’s RBI single after walks to Soto and Bo Bichette.
Soto crushed a three-run homer to center in the second inning to bury the Marlins in a 5-0 hole.

Baty became the third Mets player on this night to clear the center field fence, with a 426-foot shot that extended the lead to 6-0.
