Add The California Post on Google A Netflix and TV writer dished out nude photos and video of his estranged wife around their church after accusing her of cheating “with a Mexican man,” a lawsuit has claimed.
Andrew Wilder, 51, was convicted last week of distributing a private image to cause emotional distress, but he and Placerita Bible Church in Santa Clarita are now facing a civil suit from his wife Alison.
Wilder, who is behind the Netflix show “Devil in Ohio” and CBS’s “Criminal Minds,” gave photos and one video in August 2024 to the “church elders” and Kanye West’s personal Pastor Adam Tyson to prove she was cheating on him, according to the papers.
Tyson began leading bible studies for West after the controversial artist started attending services at Placerita Bible Church in 2019.
The photographs and video contained intimate parts of Alison’s body and the elders including Tyson shared the images with her father, who is also a high ranking member of the parish, according to the suit.
Her dad was shown the photos from an IPad, with the images blackened and/or obscuring Alison’s intimate body parts, the papers say.
The suit reads: “The nude photos were presented as evidence of Defendant Wilder’s accusation of adultery against her.
“The elders dissuaded Plaintiff’s father from telling Plaintiff about the photos, and dissuaded reporting concerns to the police.”
The photos were distributed just five months after Alison filed for divorce after “she endured domestic violence and abuse from her husband,” the suit reads.
Wilder is painted as a drunk and abusive husband to Alison and the couple’s two children in the papers.
The suit continues: “Wilder often drank heavily and came home drunk late in the evening, stomping around the house, slamming doors, and playing obscene music with lyrics that exhibit violence and misogyny.”
The couple was married for over a decade. Wilder was sober after getting help for some of the marriage but relapsed in 2019, their divorce papers say.
They add: “Andrew thinks I cheated during marriage with a Mexican man, so Andrew continually makes horrible racist remarks in front of our children about it.
“As he was leaving in his truck with our children on April 4, 2024, Andrew rolled down all the windows in his truck and shouted at me, “have fun with your Mexican boyfriend! have fun eating tacos!”
Wilder was convicted last week of violating the state’s “revenge porn” law for sharing the nude photos of his ex-wife with Tyson and others.
Wilder will face sentencing in November. The civil case remains ongoing.
