“Obviously Malachi has a ways to go, but I think that he has all of the talent, all of the natural ability and the skill set to have a really, really good career in the NFL,” Mims told The Post. “If he can stay healthy, if he can just be who he is, he’s gonna have a long career, and he’s gonna do a lot of good things in New York.”

Mims, a rising wide receivers coach at Virginia, was instrumental in Fields making the transition from quarterback when he first arrived there.
Fields, who has developed into a third-round rookie steal as the starter opposite Malik Nabers beginning in the regular-season opener Sunday night against the Cowboys, is 6-foot-4, 222 pounds. He met Burress, who was 6-5, 231, when he transferred for his final college season at Notre Dame.
