Barbara Eden, 95, speaks out after abruptly dropping out of film festival due to ‘sudden illness’

Add Page Six on Google Barbara Eden assured fans she’s OK after she abruptly dropped out of appearing at the Cinecon Classic Film Festival Saturday due to a “sudden illness.”

The actress, 95, took to Instagram Sunday and noted there has “been a bit of miscommunication” surrounding why she canceled her scheduled appearance.

“It’s okay everyone! I’m okay!” she insisted.“I’m not suffering from an illness; my doctor very recently prescribed a brand-new medication that turned out to have some nasty side effects,” she continued. “Due to the discomfort, my doctor ordered me to remain at home until it can be sorted out.”

The “I Dream of Jeannie” star said she’s expecting to make a full recovery.“This is just a speedbump!” she wrote. “I expect to be out and about as soon as I’m given the go-ahead!”

She received plenty of comments grateful to her for updating fans on her condition, with one fan writing, “For a moment i thought I’d have to rub your lantern to see if you were ok 💫✨💭🧞♥️.”

Another fan wrote, “We can’t lose another pink angel at this point.”Fans were concerned about the actress’ health after the Cinecon Classic Film Festival organizers said Eden was dealing with a “sudden illness.”

“We’re sorry to share that, due to a sudden illness, Barbara Eden will no longer be able to appear in person at Cinecon tonight,” they announced on Facebook Saturday.

“Barbara is deeply regretful that she had to cancel at the last minute, as she had been very much looking forward to seeing everyone and celebrating with us,” the statement continued.

Eden was set to receive the Cinemacon Legacy Award in person for her more than seven decades in show business. Her co-star Pat Boone, 92, ended up accepting the award on the actress’ behalf. The two starred together in “All Hands on Deck” and “The Yellow Canary.”

In April, Eden stunned her Instagram followers with a pic of and her husband, Jon Eicholtz, celebrating Easter together. Fans called her an “ageless beauty,” with fan marveling, “She looks amazing. I want to know her secret.”
