Add The New York Post on Google Let’s be real — there isn’t a time we don’t want to be comfy.

But sometimes, your tees and beaten-up shorts aren’t going to cut it. Neither, are your pajamas. Fortunately, that’s where the best women’s loungewear sets and separates come in.

Whether you’re looking for something new and put-together to run errands in — or just need a comfy outfit to wear while you binge your favorite Hulu series or head to the airport — the New York Post Shopping team has got you covered with cozy picks from Cozy Earth, lululemon, Alo Yoga and obviously, Amazon.

Looking for cozy joggers, a cloud-like sweater or an entire set to make yourself feel and look chic? We’ve got you covered. Our editors have tested a fleet of lounge uniforms for every occasion.

Looking for more of the comfiest essentials? Check out our roundup of the best slippers.

Joggers, especially buttery soft ones from Cozy Earth, are great for lounging in. Featuring ultra-soft brushed fabric, they’re exactly what we want to pad around the house in on lazy Sundays, and can be kept on if we need to do a quick run to the store. If bamboo isn’t your favorite material, they’re also available in cashmere, modal and rib-knit. No wonder they were one of Oprah’s favorite things in 2022.

Editor’s Note: “The Cozy Earth Bamboo Joggers are some of my favorite bottoms to wear,” shared Victoria McDonnell, the Post’s commerce and content strategy reporter. “Not only are they buttery soft but everyone in my family is obsessed with the material; they always want to steal it out of my closet! When I’m lounging on the couch watching Netflix or running around the house cleaning, these are the bottoms I reach for. Oh, and everything else from Cozy Earth — bamboo sheets included — are worth the investment.”

Size: XS-XXXL | Color options: 7 | Material: 62% premium viscose from bamboo, 28% acrylic, 10% spandex

Quince starts with Q for Quality, and these pants deliver.

The Quince Flowknit Wide Leg Pants are the kind of effortless staple that quietly earns a permanent spot in your rotation. They’re cut with a relaxed, fluid drape and a wide-leg silhouette, striking that elusive balance between polish and comfort.

The Flowknit fabric feels buttery soft against the skin with just enough stretch to move with you, while the adjustable drawstring waist keeps the fit easy and unfussy. They sit smoothly through the hips and fall cleanly through the leg, creating a streamlined look that feels intentional — not slouchy. We’re obsessed, and the price is right, especially when paired with the Supersoft Fleece Crew.

Size: XS-XL | Color options: 4 | Material: 88% recycled polyester, 12% spandex

If you want to get technical, the main difference between pajamas and loungewear is that the latter can be worn outside. However, we’d be more than happy to wear these (with a coat) to drive the kids to school. We certainly would wear them on WFH days and weekends. Lightweight and moisture-wicking, they have the perfect amount of stretch and a comfortable, relaxed fit. Available in 13 colors, they were named one of Oprah’s favorite things in 2019.

Emma Sutton-Williams wearing a lounge set from Cozy Earth Emma Sutton-Williams Editor’s note: “These are my new favorite loungewear because of the weighted quality of the fabric,” said Commerce Reporter Emma Sutton-Williams. “It’s almost like a perpetual hug around my body, which, honestly, I need when I get home from a day in the city. The bamboo is cooling all night and chic enough to handle a Zoom call during the day.”

Size: XS-XXXL | Color options: 11 | Material: 95% premium viscose from bamboo, 5% spandex

Whether you’re looking for something cute and comfy to wear around the house or simply need something to run errands in, this Lululemon loungewear top has a variety of applications. It’s made in breathable fabric with a four-way stretch, and we like it with jeans, leggings — you name it.

Customers are saying: “This shirt is so soft, stretchy and just overall comfortable!! I went a size down, knowing it’s stretchy just so it wouldn’t be as loose on me. A perfect everyday top for jeans or leggings.”

Size: 0-20 | Color options: 10 | Material: 94% lenzing modal, 6% elastane

Revolve Pros: Breathable and soft Available in five colors Oversized drawstring detail Cons: Lightweight, so not extremely warm Sellout risk Meet one of our favorite loungewear looks: Eberjey’s Gisele The Slouchy Set. Available in a few neutrals and moody tones alike, it’s the quintessential loungewear set that offers extreme comfortability and style. Plus, its separates can be worn with other tanks and shorts in your wardrobe.

Editor’s Note: “No one does comfy clothing quite like Eberjey,” noted Page Six Associate Commerce Editor Hannah Southwick. “While I’m obsessed with the brand’s buttery soft Tencel Modal PJs — as are plenty of celebrities — I currently have my eye on this cute pullover set from the same stretchy material. After all, what’s better than loungewear that feels like pajamas, but looks far chicer?”

Size: XS-XL | Color options: 13 | Material: 95% tencel modal, 5% spandex

“I’m a big Amazon shopper, which makes sense, as I naturally put together Amazon shopping guides for a living,” McDonnell shared. “I’ve been hearing so many creators rave about ANRABESS, so I had to try it out for myself.”

She considers Amazon a hidden-gem rabbit hole: if you search for what you want and stumble across related options, you’ll eventually find a goldmine. That’s exactly what happened with this set, and she’s obsessed with this blue hue.

“It’s comfy, casual and always makes me feel put together,” McDonnell added. “The material holds up well over time. I’m seriously considering purchasing another set. For reference, I will wear cozy shorts in the dead of winter, and I’ll absolutely want to remain cozy in the thick of summer. Alas, we’ve arrived at the dreamiest set.”

Size: XS-XL | Color options: 15 | Material: 50% rayon, 50% polyester

Alo Yoga Pros: Ribbed texture Available in five colors Cons: We wish they were sold together For days you’re not downward dogging, slip on the Muse Sweat Pant and matching zip-up hoodie from Alo Yoga. Both are made with soft, wide-ribbed material that feels plush and cozy against the skin. Wear while you binge watch your favorite show or dash to the Duane Reade for snacks. Both are available in multiple colors and have hundreds of favorable reviews. Who knows? Maybe you’ll be adding your own before you know it.

Editor’s Note: “These pants feel as good as they look!” said former Senior Commerce Editor Camryn La Sala. “The heavy but breathable fabric is what makes them my go-to sweats all year round. I love the high-rise waistband and ankle cuffs for a jogger-style silhouette.”

Size: XXS-L Color options: 7 | Material: 74% polyester, 21% rayon, 5% spandex

“I’m obsessed with the relaxed utilitarian vibe, and the Calvin Klein Cotton Poplin Shorts hits that right on the money,” McDonnell shared.

“They’re breathable, adorable and ideal for lounge or sleep. Made in a supremely soft material, they’re a great addition to your loungewear drawer,” she added. “From experience, I recommend letting these pieces air dry and not tossing them in your dryer. It doesn’t dramatically shrink, but I’ve had to give the set some stretch after tossing it in once.”

We love the loungewear from LUXOME, so it’s really hard for us to recommend only one item. And honestly, if you knew how soft and comfortable the hoodie ($105) or joggers ($105) were, you’d understand. However, we admit that the Women’s Essential Wide-Leg Pant is a favorite of ours, mainly for the relaxed fit and luxurious feel of the material.

Made from a combo of modal-fleece, polyester and elastane, the midweight pant is soft, warm and offers four-way stretch for comfort and flexibility. Naturally moisture-wicking and boasting a plush and snuggly interior, you’ll never want to take them off. Available in four relaxing colors, they do look fantastic paired with the hoodie. And if you want to take the coziness up a notch, consider adding the Ultra Plush Robe ($150) into your cart.

Customers are saying: “Very comfortable and looks great.”

Size: XS-XL | Color options: 4 | Material: 67% modal fleece, 27% polyester, 6% elastane

We love how soft this loungewear set is, and we’re sure you will too. It’s like having an outfit made of your favorite blanket throw — but more stylish and socially acceptable. Available in a variety of colors, the top has comfy drop shoulders and a block collar for extra warmth. It’s on the baggier side, so if you want something with more structure, this may not be for you. However, if you like oversized clothing, this may be your perfect fit.

Customers are saying: “These are so thick and warm yet lightweight! I wear them in the middle of winter to take my dog out and it’s all I need [to not get cold]. The cold air doesn’t go through the material…they stretch with you when you sit down. I honestly have never had anything that I loved as much as these.”

Size: S-L | Color options: 8 | Material: Polyester

Spanx Pros: Available in 10 colors Light but warm material Four-way stretch Cons: Color options sell out fast You can’t go wrong with one of Oprah’s favorite things, especially when it comes to this loungewear from Spanx. Made with light, four-way stretching fabric, you’ll love how soft and flexible the material is. Available in a variety of colors, they have to be purchased separately, but both are so flattering together, we’re willing to bet you won’t mind.

Editor’s Note: Our Deputy Editor, Holly J. Coley, has been a longtime fan of the Spanx brand.

“I’m not a loungewear girlie, but I do like to be snatched at all times and Spanx is the brand to own if you want that plus comfort,” she shared.

Size: XS-3X | Color options: 10 | Material: 47% tencel modal, 46% polyester, 7% elastane

Watching your favorite binge-worthy show in this marshmallow hooded nightgown seems like our kind of night. Available in eight colors.

Customers are saying: “The perfect cozy piece you wouldn’t shy away from wearing to answer the door for unannounced company. It is very flattering and I’m hard to please.”

Size: XS-XXL | Color options: 1 | Material: 51% Polyester, 49% Nylon

If you’re watching your wallet but still want something cute and cozy, the Automet Lounge Set may be for you. Available in a variety of colors and made of mostly spandex, you know you’ll feel comfortable as you hang around the house. The bottoms are cuffed at the ankle to prevent ripping as you walk, and the top is short sleeved to keep you cool. Almost 2,000 Amazon shoppers gave it a five-star rating.

Customers are saying: “This is the most comfortable lounge outfit I have ever had. I am only 5-feet tall, and I love the elastic at the ankles, because the pants don’t drag the ground. I know this is supposed to be a lounge outfit, but I could easily wear it out.”

Size: S-XXL | Color options: 13 | Material: 75% polyester, 20% nylon, 5% spandex

This loungewear set comes in a variety of sizes and colors and is super comfortable. Made of a poly-viscose blend with a touch of spandex, it’s lightweight and relaxed without being too baggy. The pants have pockets to store a chapstick or phone in, and more than 11,000 customers from Amazon have given it a five-star rating.

Customers are saying: “This is perfect loungewear for home. I think you could wear this out on errands and what not, but I’ll be keeping it for home only. I don’t feel like anyone really mentioned it but the shirt is a dropped shoulder style long sleeve. I think this adds to how flowy the top feels without making you look shapeless.”

Size: S-3XL | Color options: 32 | Material: 65% polyester, 30% viscose, 5% elastane

If you can’t tell by some of our picks, we love a slouchy loungewear set. This one, specifically, has our adoration for its soft knit fabrication. It almost has a long John texture, which makes it a bit more interesting, and we’re dying over the shirt’s oversized buttons. Available in 22 colors.

Customers are saying: “Colors are exactly as depicted. The elastic band on the pants sit snug, but it’s [still] a lovely casual at-home piece. It’s thick and keeps you warm.”

Size: S-XL | Color options: 18 | Material: 55% acrylic, 45% cotton

This pick may not work for everyone’s office, but if you’re lucky enough to have a low-key employer, this is great for casual Fridays. The wide-leg fit of the pants is actually in style, and the slouchy sweater has that downtown, cool girl look. Wear together or as separates. You’ll look great either way.

Customers are saying: “I love these two-piece fits. This one looks just like the picture. The color is exact. It has a nice stretch to it, and the material has some good weight. I’m tall — 5 feet 7.5 inches — and these are perfect for my liking.”

Size: S-XL | Color options: 5 | Material: polyester

This is a great question because women’s pajamas and loungewear do have a lot in common. They’re both comfortable, perfect for naps, as well as lazy days around the house.

Similarities aside, they’re not the same. Here are a few of their differences:

Purpose: Although they’re both comfy, pajamas are designed for sleep, while loungewear is made to be worn outside. Because people benefit from cooler environments when bedtime rolls around, many pajamas are made with temperature regulating materials, such as silk or bamboo. In contrast, loungewear fabric tends to be thicker and more protective against the elements.

Style: Fashion-wise, loungewear is very versatile, coming in the form of joggers, oversized shirts, leggings, hoodies and shorts. Although pajamas can be versatile too, most have the same style prototype: a matching bottom and top with buttons, collar — you get the picture. They also tend to be lighter than loungewear pieces.

Material: In comparison to pajamas, loungewear can be made from a wider range of materials because they’re meant for the outdoors. Heavier fibers, such as fleece or knit blends are just as common as sets made from 100% cotton.

Pajamas are usually made from lighter materials that are breathable, such as cotton, silk or satin. While there are exceptions, like fleece pajamas, they still wouldn’t have the design details to make them appropriate for outside. Hoodies, sleeves with thumbholes and similar features are common in loungewear, making it easier to transition from your couch to the local bodega without much fuss. Can you nap in them? Sure, but they’re truly meant to bring the comfort of PJs with a little more protection.

Loungewear has been around since the 1940s, but it stepped back into the spotlight in 2020 when many of us took a more…relaxed approach to our appearance.

The cool thing about the loungewear sets of today is that they’re fairly easy to dress up. This means that they can not only be enjoyed when relaxing at home but going out.
