Add The New York Post on Google Chris Evans has officially assembled a buyer for his longtime Los Angeles home — but the deal came with a super-sized discount.
The “Captain America” star sold his secluded Hollywood Hills estate for $5.38 million, more than $1.6 million below the $6.99 million he originally sought last year, according to Realtor.com.
The home also comes with some serious superhero history: Its detached guesthouse contains the gym where Evans trained to transform into Captain America for the Marvel blockbusters.
Evans, 45, first listed the home in May 2025 before pulling it from the market that November. He brought it back in June at the reduced price of $6.39 million — meaning the final deal still landed roughly $1 million below its latest asking price.
But the actor did not exactly walk away empty-handed. He purchased the property for $3.52 million in 2013, leaving him with a gross gain of about $1.86 million before accounting for renovations and other costs, according to the Wall Street Journal.
The sale marks Evans’ long-planned departure from California as he settles on the East Coast with his wife, Portuguese actress Alba Baptista, and their daughter, Alma.
“The West Coast is beautiful, and I’ve spent more than a decade in this home enjoying Los Angeles,” Evans told The Post when the property was listed last year. “But I’ve decided to spend more time on the East Coast. It feels like the right moment to pass this beautiful property to the next owner.”
The Massachusetts native and Baptista married during a private ceremony on Cape Cod in 2023. They reportedly also own a home near Evans’ hometown of Sudbury, outside Boston.
Built in 1940, the approximately 4,600-square-foot Hollywood Hills residence sits on 0.76 acres and offers sweeping views of Laurel Canyon and the Santa Monica Mountains.
The four-bedroom spread features an open-plan living area with a fireplace, a formal dining space with a wet bar, and a kitchen equipped with a 60-inch Wolf range, marble countertops and skylights.
Evans’ primary suite comes with its own terrace, a walk-in closet and a spa-like bathroom featuring a soaking tub and a steam shower.
Outside, landscaped terraces and stone pathways lead to a swimming pool, a spa and a fire pit overlooking the canyon.
The detached guesthouse — home to Evans’ Captain America training ground — also includes a bedroom, a kitchen and an office.
Evans made a number of upgrades during his 12 years at the property, including adding a retaining wall that expanded the usable outdoor space, according to the Wall Street Journal.
The home was listed with Scott Moore of Christie’s International Real Estate Southern California. The buyer’s identity has not been disclosed.
