Add The New York Post on Google A deranged Florida man was busted for smashing up an Arby’s with a metal pipe — less than a month after getting out of prison for killing a helpless swan because he was “hungry.”
Adonis Leyva, 34, was released last month after serving just under a year for killing the animal he was then seen carrying around at Lake Eola, a popular park in Orlando, according to News 6.
He had told a horrified witness who confronted him that he killed the bird for “my food” — then said as he was being cuffed by cops, “I was hungry, so I hunted.”
Leyva was busted again on Monday, this time for smashing the window of an Arby’s in Orlando, terrifying a female employee before he marched next door to bash a Dunkin Donuts sign, an online arrest warrant said.
Adonis DMichael Leyva was previously arrested last year after he admitted to killing a swan. Orange County Sheriff's Office Leyva then allegedly hurled the pipe at cars while walking along the city’s busy East Colonial Drive, before he was busted at a Wawa in the area.
He was then hit with a second felony Tuesday when employees at a nearby PNC Bank found an ATM damaged, with surveillance matching it to the same pipe-bashing spree the previous day.
Leyva had become notorious locally for his horrific attack on the bird late August last year.
He admitted to responding cops that he had killed the swan, and then pleaded no contest to animal cruelty charges, WESH reported.
Despite his baffling crime, he was found fit to face the charges after a mental competency evaluation — a fact scaring people in the area.
“I don’t think anybody that does cruelty or has harming in their hearts should be free,” a local resident, Elizabeth Guerrero, told News 6. “Nobody would feel safe.”
Leyva is now facing two criminal mischief charges, both third-degree felonies, and is being held on a $6,000 bond, jail records show.
