Doja Cat confesses she ‘struggled with cocaine’ and alcohol: ‘Needed to get this s–t off my chest’

Add Page Six on Google Doja Cat admitted she had issues with cocaine and alcohol in the past.

“I’m going to make a disclaimer that I don’t want to make. I have struggled with cocaine — could’ve been like eight years ago,” the “Say So” singer revealed in a candid TikTok video shared Monday.

“But I’m well past that. Thank God,” she added.

Doja, whose real name is Amala Ratna Zandile Dlamini, said that “undiagnosed mental illness … paired with social media is an extreme issue that I think a lot of us don’t understand.”

“I think that it’s important that we take that into account when we see things on the internet … about ourselves that are negative,” she explained.

In a second TikTok video, the pop star, 30, talked about her past issues with alcohol.

“The best example for my experience is using the internet as a means of validation to the negative thoughts in my head, which were then brought on by drinking alcohol,” she revealed.

“I’ve never had a real problem with drugs, except for weed, but alcohol is something that I definitely have had a problem with,” Doja added.

“I was never an alcoholic but I definitely had problems. So if I can teach anybody anything, I will tell you that it’s not good to pair these two things together.”

In a third video, Doja — who is biracial — addressed “self-hate allegations” from fans who claimed she hates being a Black woman.

“I think I hated myself since I was — could have been like 8 years old. And that was when I moved to my predominantly white neighborhood,” she shared.

The Grammy winner concluded the clip by saying: “I just felt like this TikTok was necessary and I need to get this s–t off of my chest. Today felt like the right day.”

In March, Doja revealed she had been diagnosed with borderline personality disorder (BPD).

“I’ve learned from a very young age to pretend that I like stuff, to pretend that I’m happy, to pretend that I don’t like stuff that I do, to appear like everything is okay,” she said in a TikTok video at the time.

“I’ll get it done. And it caught up with me, and I think it always does for people. I’m now struggling with BPD,” the “Agora Hills” singer added.

However, Doja told her fans she has been in therapy “for years now” to deal with her “agonizing condition.”
