Lindsay Clancy’s lawyer labeled ‘feminist icon’ by her fawning fans: ‘Voice of so many moms’

Add The New York Post on Google Lindsay Clancy’s lawyer, Kevin Reddington, called it “unusual” to be labeled a feminist icon after he defended the killer mom at trial, shining a light on postpartum issues.

“It’s kind of unusual,” Reddington said of his newfound status.

Over the course of the trial, Reddington said the 36-year-old mother of three shouldn’t be held criminally responsible because she was in the throes of severe postpartum psychosis and heard a voice telling her to strangle her three kids.

The defense attorney also spent a lot of the trial trying to prove that Clancy received negligent care by all the healthcare providers she saw in the four months before the killings when she battled crippling insomnia, anxiety, depression and thoughts of harming herself and her kids.

“You’re the voice of so many moms!” Clancy supporter Laurel Witwen told Reddington as she hugged him outside of court.

Witwen and her daughter, Hannah Estrada, both traveled from Houston, Texas to support Clancy in light of their own experience with postpartum.

“We came from Houston to watch you. I wish someone would have held my daughter’s hand,” said the 65-year-old mother through tears.

“We want to take you out for a steak dinner, Mr, Reddington! We love you so much,” Estrada, 37, said. “I had my health weaponized against me in family court.”

“You’re the voice of so many moms!” her mom added.
