‘Sick’ Kelly Osbourne details ‘slow process’ of recovery as she addresses body-shaming comments: ‘I wasn’t well’

Add Page Six on Google Kelly Osbourne insisted she’s “getting a lot better,” months after her weight loss sparked concern in the wake of her dad Ozzy Osbourne’s death.

The former reality star shared her “slow process” of recovery with Hello! magazine Monday, saying she initially did not handle the scrutiny over her appearance well.

“How can you navigate something so cruel when you’re so sick?” the 41-year-old asked. “I’m getting a lot better. I’ve got all the help I need and I’m grateful for the support I have in my life.”

Kelly went on to shout out the “incredible team of people” in her corner.

“[They] are not just my friends,” she noted. “Because what you’ll find when you’re grieving is that people don’t know how to handle it, and you do lose a lot of friends. But the ones who stick around are the real ones.”

The “Osbournes” alum is now putting “one foot in front of the other.”

She explained, “You’ve got to fix the head before you can fix the body. … It’s going to take me a minute. I’m not going to be fixed in a day. I’m not going to be fixed on one therapy session. This is a lifetime of work I’ve got to do and continue to do for the rest of my life.”

Kelly called her current mindset “a lot more healthy” as she gets to “know [her]self in a whole new way.”

She continued, “It’s great discovering things about yourself [in therapy], and the reasons why I do certain things that stem from my childhood. You go all the way back and you’re like: ‘Oh, my god, that’s why I do that. That’s crazy.’”

When Ozzy passed away in July 2025 at age 76, Kelly posted an Instagram Story tribute calling the Black Sabbath rocker the “best friend [she] ever had.”

At the time, she told her followers, “I feel unhappy [and] I am so sad.”

As Kelly faced scrutiny about her appearance in subsequent months, she cited her grief as the reason behind her slimdown.

“To the people who keep thinking they’re being funny and mean by writing comments like, ‘Are you ill, or ‘Get off Ozempic,’ or ‘You don’t look right’ … to all those people, f–k off,” she said on “Piers Morgan Uncensored” in December 2025.

“My dad just died, and I’m doing the best that I can,” Osbourne, who previously underwent gastric sleeve surgery and has repeatedly denied Ozempic use, continued.

Her mom, Sharon Osbourne, doubled down on Kelly’s reasoning during the interview, adding, “She’s right, you know. She’s right. She can’t eat right now.”

Kelly has continued clapping back at haters, writing on social media in March that “there is a special kind of cruelty in harming someone who is clearly going through something.

“Kicking me while I’m down, doubting my pain, spreading my struggles as gossip, and turning your back when I need support and love most. None of it proves strength; it only reveals a profound absence of compassion and character,” she continued.
