Add The New York Post on Google It never hurts to earn praise from one of your sport’s greatest players, and on Sunday, Scottie Scheffler got some much-deserved recognition from a golf great.
Tiger Woods shouted out Scottie Scheffler on Sunday after Scheffler captured his second Tour Championship and FedEx Cup at East Lake Golf Club in Atlanta.
“Three wins, five runner-ups and finishing the season No. 1. Those are some numbers to be proud of. Incredible consistency all season long. Congrats on a historic season, Scottie,” Woods wrote on X on Sunday.
The victory was Scheffler’s third win of the season and is his second in the past three weeks after he won the St. Jude Championship earlier this month.
Scheffler wrapped up the 2026 season tied for total wins with Chris Gotterup, Matt Fitzpatrick and Wyndham Clark.
“I think that’s something I’m very proud of. I think when you look over the course of the season, and especially some of the tough starts — shooting over-par to start a tournament on the PGA Tour is never a good spot to be in,” Scheffler said about his season. “I’m very proud of fighting back and having some good finishes and even giving myself some chances to win with some of those poor starts.
“Overall just continued to battle, like you said, day in and day out. It’s something that I’m very proud of. It’s a gift to be out here on tour. Each and every day I’m going to try to give it my best.
“This was a week which just brought a lot of good energy to the course and just tried to do my best.”
Not only is the win another feather in Scheffler’s cap, but it now puts him atop the PGA Tour’s all-time money list with career earnings of $130,390,661, surpassing Woods, who had sat atop that list since Feb. 13, 2000.
The victory on Sunday gave Scheffler another $10 million in the bank, and he has earned $14.1 million over the past three weeks.
Scheffler’s earnings are more than $11 million ahead of Rory McIlroy among active players on the PGA Tour.
