The team cut him on Sunday, according to multiple reports, ahead of the 6 p.m. ET deadline to trim rosters down to 53 players.
Both he and the Titans were open to a trade, according to ESPN, but none materialized.
The Titans traded up to draft Levis with the No. 33 pick in 2023.
After largely being projected as a first-round pick, it produced a memorable draft-day slide.
But he has yet to prove any of his doubters wrong.
He started 21 games in 2023 and ’24, going a combined 5-16 and recording 3,899 passing yards, 21 touchdowns and 16 interceptions.
Levis, 27, missed all of last season after undergoing surgery on his right shoulder.
The Titans replaced him with that year’s No. 1 overall pick, Cam Ward, who started all 17 games in 2025 and is the bona fide starter again this year.

Just a few weeks ago, Levis was steadfast in his belief that he could still be a starting quarterback in the NFL.
“I know I’ve put the tape out there already that I’m a dang good quarterback in this league,” Levis said. “And I’m even better than I ever have been. …There are not 32 quarterbacks in this league better than me. I know that for sure.”
Instead of Levis, the Titans will go with Mitchell Trubisky, whom they signed to a two-year, $10.5 million deal this past offseason, as Ward’s backup.
“Very grateful,” Levis told ESPN about his time with the Titans. “Ms. Amy [Adams-Strunk] brought me in here and welcomed me with open arms, as well as everyone in Nashville with the team. I grew a lot in my time with the Titans and wouldn’t trade the experience for anything.”
