Tai Po Baptist Public School, formerly located near Wang Fuk Court, opened its new premises at Fu Shin Estate on Saturday, with pupils, teachers and parents expressing relief at finally having a settled place to reunite.

The campus was formerly home to CCC Kei Ching Primary School, and the Education Bureau spent HK$43.6 million (US$5.6 million) refurbishing classrooms, toilets, the assembly hall and basketball court, as well as replacing electrical and air-conditioning systems.

Secretary for Education Christine Choi Yuk-lin officiated at the opening ceremony.

“The school has gone through difficulties and, with the collaboration of various parties, has been reborn after the fire,” she said.

“The relocation … to its new premises at Fu Shin Estate is not merely a change of location, but also a significant moment for all teachers and students to reunite and embark on a new page together.”
